Keyword research should be the first step of any online marketing strategy as it creates the foundation. It doesn’t just affect your website’s SEO—it affects the keywords you use in your social media profiles, content marketing, and paid advertising.

In short, it’s seen just about everywhere that page is referenced.
  2. The Meta Description – While this isn’t important as far as ranking for your keyword phrase, it does show up in almost as many places as the SEO title, which makes it important regardless.

But you do want to make sure the content on your page represents the main keyword phrase and is mentioned within it. At bare minimum, it should be in the opening paragraph on a page. Also, try to use it in a header tag (like H2, H3 tags).
  4. The Image ALT Tag – If you have an image on your page (which you should), include the main keyword in the image’s ALT tag. So if you have a photo of yourself on the homepage, ALT tag the photo with your name + your keyword like John Smith, Freelance Web Designer.
Also, be sure to consider on-site optimization for your social media profiles. Primarily, you will want to add your main keyword phrase to your social profile’s about section, introduction, or bio. Also try to use your main keyword phrases naturally in status updates. Both will help more people discover your business through social media.

Tips to Avoid Penalized

Don’t over-optimize on your website or your social media profiles. The most common form of over-optimization is keyword stuffing, or using your keyword phrase an unnatural amount of times on a page. This is generally frowned upon by Google and could hurt your search rankings if discovered by Google’s algorithm changes.

 Local Search Optimization

If your business has a local focus, such as a physical location that customers visit or offers services within a specific area, you will also want to optimize your website for that location. Go back to your keyword research and see what locations you can optimize your pages for.

Link Building

Link building can be tough and time consuming, depending on the nature of your business, but it is necessary. One of the keys to ranking for your target keywords is anchor text. This is where you use your target keywords with your link. Don’t buy packages that try to sell you on cheap, bulk links, as these are always low quality. Don’t try to build a ton of links all at once—this is a big tip off. And just like on-site optimization, you don’t want to over-optimize by building too many links with the same anchor text.

I started 2013 with not as many clients as I’d like. Around June, something happened—old and new clients alike started knocking on my door.

The timing was partly due to other efforts, but companies I hadn’t even heard of were also finding me. When I asked people from these companies how they found me, the answer was always the same: LinkedIn.

That makes perfect sense to me. LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional network. Hundreds of millions of people post their professional profiles on the site. People use it to connect to others, have conversations, research companies, look for work, recruit freelancers (I’m living proof) recruit employees (sometimes bypassing traditional recruiters) and so much more.

No matter what type of business you do, you’ll be able to find business—and it may find you—via LinkedIn.

Here are five tips based on how I found—and continue to find—business on LinkedIn:

1. I made my profile reflect the real me I regularly beef up my LinkedIn profile to ensure it shows prospective clients how I can help them. For instance, my profile summary tells readers what I do in less than three lines. Everything else in the profile flows from there.

When I update my profile, I use the following question as a helpful test: If I’m asked to produce a resume, could I copy the content straight from my LinkedIn profile without changing a thing? When I answer that question with a yes, I know I have a good profile that helps prospective clients find me.

2. I continually expand my network Here’s how I expand my network: I think of people in categories like these (this isn’t a comprehensive list—you can probably add other categories):

  • current and former clients 
  •  current and former colleagues 
  •  industry contacts 
  •  current and former professors/teachers/trainers
  •  friends
  •  family 
Then I connect to those people via LinkedIn. Doing this strengthens my network, which leads to other benefits down the road:

  •  I can request introductions to other people. 
  •  I find connections in interesting companies. 
  • I ask favors of my connections. 
  • I do favors for my connections
  • I make it easier for other people to find me. 
3. I ask for recommendations from people who know me LinkedIn recommendations really boost my profile. They make my profile more informative and attractive add other people’s perspectives on what it’s like to work with me demonstrate that the recommendations are real (people can contact my recommenders via their LinkedIn profiles for verification) provide social proof, which influences people’s decisions to buy and hire

To request LinkedIn recommendations, I think back to successful work experiences, projects or assignments. Who praised me? Who else benefited from my work? I then connect with those people and ask them to write a paragraph or two that details the work I did, what made it successful and why I was great to work with.

4. I stay in touch with my contacts LinkedIn makes it easy to stay in touch with people who you might otherwise lose sight of: people you worked with in the past, people you met once while networking, people you’ve traded emails with.

You never know when one of these people might be in a position to help you, or vice versa, so I make it a habit to communicate occasionally with my contacts.

LinkedIn sends me “update” emails when my connections add events to their profiles, like promotions and job changes. I also get updates on birthdays and work anniversaries. I use these update emails as opportunities to send people quick notes. I congratulate them. I ask them how they’re doing. I may add other comments. I enjoy reaching out, and sometimes have conversations that can lead to new business.

5. I schedule meetings “IRL” Digital relationships only go so far. To deepen them, you need to meet people IRL (in real life). So I make it a habit to get together with people in my network for coffee, lunch, networking events or other socializing. Doing this strengthens my connection with them.

I like to schedule Thursday afternoon coffee with people who I don’t regularly see. I use such meetings to do things for others, ask for things like advice or contacts, and simply socialize.

Counting Views:
When a video is uploaded, it is cached in the different
YouTube servers spread around the globe. This is done, of course, for faster response times. Every time a request is made for a video, the closest server provides the video and increments the count in its local log. These logs are then collated at fixed times and a central log is then updated.

The 301 freeze: When a video has less than 300 views, the views are not verified. However, when views cross 300, YouTube starts verifying them to make sure that they are legitimate payback requests and not "fake" views. So you would often find that the count of a video gets stuck for a few hours or a day at 301 (sometimes 302 or 305 or 308 if multiple logs sync with the centralized server at the same instant). From this point onwards, view counts increase in batches - after every batch of new views are verified by YouTube.

An interesting technical tidbit is that when the number 300 was decided by the designers, the programmer made the elementary careless mistake of using the age old View-count <= 300  instead of the View-count < 300 in their logic.

Calculating a view:
Coming to the specifics of the question, what constitutes a view? View is a video playback that was requested by an actual user. YouTube has been extremely tight lipped about this because giving away details of even the minutest of mechanisms will cause people to "hack" the system and artificially inflate views.



However, we can make some guesses by observation. We know that fake views include misleading views - misleading titles and thumbnails that attract views. When a video has a large number of views that last for mere seconds after clicking, the views are not counted as legitimate. So if a video is viewed in its entirety by someone who clicked on it, it is counted as one view. But not all views are fully played.


Google Ad Sense works only with videos that are over 30 seconds in length so that the click through rates get registered. In fact, some videos are lucky enough to have just ten seconds of play considered as a view. We can conclude from this that the amount of video played should be above a threshold percentage of the length of the video. The type and genre of video could also be a factor. YouTube also considers views from the same IP in breaks of 6 to 8 hours. So one person viewing the same video repeatedly would only generate 3 to 5 views a day, after views cross 300. A viewer being redirected to YouTube upon clicking an embedded video counts as one view. If there is an embedded video with auto-play, it is not counted as a view. I'm quite sure there are many more restrictions and rules that go into categorizing a request as a view that we might not be aware of.

In a nutshell, a view is a unique, user-initiated play of a certain secret percentage of a video that is played only by YouTube's hosting.

There are many topics related to your niche, try to relate the things out of your niche to your niche and write on them. This will give a variety of content to your blog and will prevent your blog from boredom of same topics.
Look your older posts
Whenever you start writing a new article, read you old articles to have an idea on what to write further, it is possible that you might miss something or might have learned something new about it. 
You can have an internal link building in your blog by connecting previous articles from the new articles. So it is better to have a look at your older content as it might give you good ideas of follow-up articles and sometimes provides you a great connectivity.
