One way backlinks to the pages of a domain give it authority in Google over time. One strategy to gain these backlinks is to bookmark your content in social bookmarking sites that do not use the ‘no-follow’ tag. Generally speaking, the higher the Page-rank (PR) of the site, the better.

What To Bookmark
Technically you can bookmark anything – you could literally bookmark every page of your website however I don’t recommend that. The idea behind social bookmarking is that you are sharing content with other users around the web. This is particularly important for high profile sites that rely heavily on the voting aspect. If you bookmark rubbish it is really just a form of spamming! I recommend only bookmarking your best content – blog posts, articles, editorials, interviews, podcasts, videos, resources and so on. This keeps everyone happy.

How to Bookmark For SEO
The purpose of this exercise is to generate backlinks to our content pages that help them rank better in Google. I’ll assume that each piece of content is optimized for some keyword. There are usually three places where you can add information:
  • The title
  • Tags
  • Description
Make sure your keyword is in all three of them. Note that the title especially usually becomes the anchor text that is used in the resulting link so the title is arguably the most important element to get right. Google has recently introduced a bunch of algorithm changes (Panda, Penguin etc) and one of the consequences of these changes is that they do not like to see the same anchor text being used over and over again - they will devalue such links!

I started 2013 with not as many clients as I’d like. Around June, something happened—old and new clients alike started knocking on my door.

The timing was partly due to other efforts, but companies I hadn’t even heard of were also finding me. When I asked people from these companies how they found me, the answer was always the same: LinkedIn.

That makes perfect sense to me. LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional network. Hundreds of millions of people post their professional profiles on the site. People use it to connect to others, have conversations, research companies, look for work, recruit freelancers (I’m living proof) recruit employees (sometimes bypassing traditional recruiters) and so much more.

No matter what type of business you do, you’ll be able to find business—and it may find you—via LinkedIn.

Here are five tips based on how I found—and continue to find—business on LinkedIn:

1. I made my profile reflect the real me I regularly beef up my LinkedIn profile to ensure it shows prospective clients how I can help them. For instance, my profile summary tells readers what I do in less than three lines. Everything else in the profile flows from there.

When I update my profile, I use the following question as a helpful test: If I’m asked to produce a resume, could I copy the content straight from my LinkedIn profile without changing a thing? When I answer that question with a yes, I know I have a good profile that helps prospective clients find me.

2. I continually expand my network Here’s how I expand my network: I think of people in categories like these (this isn’t a comprehensive list—you can probably add other categories):

  • current and former clients
  •  current and former colleagues
  •  industry contacts
  •  current and former professors/teachers/trainers
  •  friends
  •  family
Then I connect to those people via LinkedIn. Doing this strengthens my network, which leads to other benefits down the road:

  •  I can request introductions to other people.
  •  I find connections in interesting companies.
  • I ask favors of my connections.
  • I do favors for my connections
  • I make it easier for other people to find me.
3. I ask for recommendations from people who know me LinkedIn recommendations really boost my profile. They make my profile more informative and attractive add other people’s perspectives on what it’s like to work with me demonstrate that the recommendations are real (people can contact my recommenders via their LinkedIn profiles for verification) provide social proof, which influences people’s decisions to buy and hire

To request LinkedIn recommendations, I think back to successful work experiences, projects or assignments. Who praised me? Who else benefited from my work? I then connect with those people and ask them to write a paragraph or two that details the work I did, what made it successful and why I was great to work with.

4. I stay in touch with my contacts LinkedIn makes it easy to stay in touch with people who you might otherwise lose sight of: people you worked with in the past, people you met once while networking, people you’ve traded emails with.

You never know when one of these people might be in a position to help you, or vice versa, so I make it a habit to communicate occasionally with my contacts.

LinkedIn sends me “update” emails when my connections add events to their profiles, like promotions and job changes. I also get updates on birthdays and work anniversaries. I use these update emails as opportunities to send people quick notes. I congratulate them. I ask them how they’re doing. I may add other comments. I enjoy reaching out, and sometimes have conversations that can lead to new business.

5. I schedule meetings “IRL” Digital relationships only go so far. To deepen them, you need to meet people IRL (in real life). So I make it a habit to get together with people in my network for coffee, lunch, networking events or other socializing. Doing this strengthens my connection with them.

I like to schedule Thursday afternoon coffee with people who I don’t regularly see. I use such meetings to do things for others, ask for things like advice or contacts, and simply socialize.

In a Nutshell,

LinkedIn is always evolving. New features are introduced and old ones retired. I visit blog.LinkedIn.com regularly to stay on top of these changes.

I wanted to write a guide over SEO commonly known as Search Engine Optimization.  I understood about the importance of the SEO writing and so I wanted to share the tips about SEO.The SEO of your website is largely dependent upon how easily and quickly your potential customers can find your site through a search engine query. With your website already cleaned up and shining with outstanding quality content and internal SEO methods (keywords, meta tags, etc),
“What is SEO writing?”
SEO is all about writing your original text and content , which includes your own views and experiences, also which readers want to read and the search engine can search.

Your main aim online is to make the websites and blog and earn money. For this aim to accomplish you have to choose such a path in which the people visiting Google.com may find you easily in H1 or H2 page. In short, they find you in the starting page of the particular search, for this purpose, to make your stuff visible, SEO comes in frame.

Importance of SEO while continuing writing for so long, the writers understood the need of SEO, they just realized the importance of visibility of their content on the search engine.

There is nothing wrong to write according to SEO, we are optimizing the content according to the need of the user. Just stuffing the words for making the content known to the subscribers is the great need of writing.

What you are writing, what are your thoughts, if this doesn’t reaches to the readers, then what is the use of writing.

So the main aim of SEO writing is to attract maximum readers towards your thoughts and learning.

SEO opens the door of the writers mind and give him the way to earn money by the productive content.

Every webmaster needs to know the value of the Google PageRank (PR) system. Since Google is the number one search engine in the world, it is the leader in determining which websites are the most relevant for search words and terms.  If you run a business website and you want to get noticed by search engines, you should take care to improve your Google PageRank.

What is Google Page Rank?

Mr. Page’s doctoral research was based on an exploration on the mathematical properties of the linking system of the World Wide Web. He developed and defined a method that counted and qualified every link on the web, giving each link a vote.  Having links from more popular websites carry more weight than less popular sites.A Google PageRank is determined by a proprietary mathematical formula that counts every link to a website as a vote. In essence, your website is put up against every other website with similar content and keywords in a popularity contest. The website with the most links, as well as the most valuable links, wins a higher “rank” in popularity.

Therefore, it is important for your website to acquire back links from other websites that are essentially giving a vote of confidence to your site. Every “vote” or link to your site helps determine the value of your site. However, it’s not just the sheer number of links your website gets. Google also takes a good, hard look at the website who offers the link to your site. A backlink from a more important page that is high in popularity itself will count more toward a higher ranking for your website.

PageRank and SEO

If your PageRank is high, it is more likely that a customer will find you, as the search results will put your page higher on the list. Therefore time, effort, and care should be given to achieving a high Google PageRank.

How can you strengthen your Google PageRank? As with any business, your website must have a proper marketing strategy. With PageRank, that means you must get noticed not just by paying customers, but by other websites from whom you want a backlink.
  • List your website on valuable and popular directories like Yahoo, Dmoz, or CitySearch. Avoid “link farms” that offer little or no value to your link.
  • Get your website reviewed by a popular and authoritative review site. Unpaid reviews are best since they offer value to customers that are not swayed by cash incentives.
  • Research other business websites and encourage them to link to your site. Joint ventures are a good way to exchange links and benefit each other’s business as well.
  • Join popular online forums and post valuable comments and discussions with links back to your site. This can get others to do the same if they like what they see.
  • Publish articles on popular article submission sites with links to your website. Associated Content and EzineArticles are good examples.
  • Write “linkbait” articles that will attract the attention of social networks. These articles can be valuable resources, controversial, or humorous. If one of the articles or blog posts on your websites is picked up by the social networks, you not only enjoy a great backlink, but a significant boost of traffic.
Can PageRank Be Manipulated?

Since Google PageRank is an algorithm based on hyperlinks to a website, many webmasters and dastardly SEO firms may try and sell “high” PageRanks to website owners. For the right price, a webmaster could potentially “buy” a link on an already popular webpage to his website that not only drives traffic, but also can potentially receive a higher rank on Google’s algorithmic ranking system.

Though buying links may be a good marketing strategy, Google is on the lookout and cautions webmasters against attempting to manipulate the PageRank system. The main reason is that manipulation devalues the entire PageRank system. If a webmaster is determined by Google to be buying links to raise the PR, then the website will be devalued on Google’s system or banned entirely. Your PageRank could be stripped to zero, and worse, your website may be “sandboxed,” meaning that it will not show up on any search result list.

Getting a high Google PageRank is not automatic. It takes time and effort to ensure that your website continues to provide quality content and acquires links from other quality sites. But with continual effort by legitimate means, your website may just be the one to which Google will send natural customers.

In the prior times, let’s say 5-6 years back, the Google stats and strata were different. Different here says easy money earning.  There are ample no. of factors that contributes in reaching the high position and maintaining that position in the search engine.Factors such as site structure, sitemaps, user experience, alt tag on images but above all content is the master. Content plays the role of the king. Not all type of contents, but yes unique and in demand content can boom in the market. Following are 10 tips for writing content to make its position in the front pages in the search engine.
Optimize for Robots and write the content for users :
Its 21st century, the world of robots and now a days, robots are equally active on internet. In the present times, no one wants to read the stuffed SEO, not even the search engines. SEO is essential but an article cannot rely only on SEO.
Everyone wants natural content, and if SEO is used accordingly, it works as icing on the cake. There is no importance of rankings until your content is relevant. Robots are generally programmed and can’t change their feed, so target the robots.
Forget about the keyword density:
Adding lots of keywords to the article is the tenacious myth amongst the people. It’s but natural that Google favors certain keywords over other, and keywords are also required, but stuffing of keywords is just a non-sense, cramming of the keywords unnecessarily only harm the posts rather than achieving the high ranking.
Write in-depth and long CONTENT:
Google prefer those pages as the top rankers which have about 2000 words with relevant content. The articles having in-depth knowledge for the user are best suited for the visitors on the Google page.

The evidence points that the long articles get more shares and links then a superficial and small article. The length shows the insight of the author that he has the knowledge about the subject matter. Write the content just not to please the search engine but for sharing your thoughts and experiences with the audiences.
Merits of Long tail:
The problem that arises with the long, fat keywords is that they are super competitive and need huge efforts to upgrade their ranking. In many cases, there are lots of relative searches like “keywords” vs “how the stuffing of keywords harms?” Long tail keywords have small search volume but attracts large traffic and the people are easily distracted by their way of query.
Use related synonyms and grammatical variations :
Using the synonyms and keywords along with the proper use of grammar makes  the content relevant without cramming actual keywords in the article. Now a days. Google uses Latent Semantic Indexing to get the intentions of the people searching the results on the webpages. This will make your content unique and will target the search easily.

Google Tilde:
If you add ~ before a keyword  and go for a search, Google will provide you with the similar keywords at the bottom of the page that is related to the query. Using those keywords will help you to make your content authentic and relevant.
Google Plus:
G+ what we usually call Google plus, plays a biggest role in SEO.  Set up your G+ profile and add up your authorship markup, claim ownership of your content, Build an Author rank and play actively on G+. By doing this, you will be promoting every piece of your content regardless of where it gets posted.

Sharing the Content is must:
Sharing of your content on the public profile gets traffic and links, more sharing will make the blog relevant and popular. Share your content in relevant forums, blogs, newsletters and in social networking sites like Facebook,4yourprice,Twitter, StumbleUpon, Linkedin, Google+, Pinterest and enjoy the benefit of traffic. Never underestimate the incredible power of GUEST BLOGGING, it shares its traffic with your site.
Submission of content on various sites:
In order to promote your articles, or content, you must add the content in various sites like Reddit.com, 4yourprice.com,Technorati.com for knowing its rank among all the articles. The more the sharing of content, more traffic it will gain.
Title tags and Snippets:
These both still remains the king because Google first searches for the title tag when categorizing individually on the webpage. The title and snippets (what we called as meta description) plays an important role. So insert the keywords, but the title and meta tag should sound natural enough so that people automatically click on them.

you run a local business, you may be missing a gold mine of effective online marketing opportunities. Social media is known for connecting people around the globe and successfully promoting international causes and businesses. It is less well known for marketing local businesses in their communities. But there is a whole world of marketing opportunities available for location-based businesses, including search, social, and content marketing options. In this guide, we explore the top six marketing strategies that successful local businesses use, both online and off. Follow these six steps to getting noticed online

Step 1: Optimize your website for local search

There are a number of ways you can optimize your website for local search that will help attract local clients and customers. The first thing you need to do is identify your keywords. These are the words (usually a short phrase) that describe your business. If, for example, you run a Online Classified Advertisement  business, your keywords might be “Online Advertisement.” To localize your business, add the city you target to that phrase, e.g. “USA Online Classifieds.” Read the Small Business SEO Guide, do some keyword research to make sure the city + keyword phrase has strong search volume, then optimize your website for the best locally focused keywords using the on-site optimization tips in the guide.

Next, include a local street address and phone number (with a local area code, not 800 number) on each page of your website. Most businesses do this in the footer. This information must be on the website in text, not image format, so that search engines can crawl the information. If your business has multiple locations, the alternative is to put the primary location on each page and create individual contact pages for each location.

Tip: Make sure your website has a contact page for each location that includes the address, phone number, and a map helping customers find it. Adding photos of each location on the contact page is also a good idea.

Actionable Takeaway: Craft locally focused keyword phrases for your business and optimize your website for them. Also, include your local address and phone number on each page of your website.

Step 2: Find the right local directories to join

Local directories and review sites are often referred to as “citations,” and they can help your business website rank well in local search results on Google. Here are the keys to ensuring each local directory and review site you join counts towards helping your business rank well in local search:

  • Make sure your business name, address, phone number, and website are consistent, on both your website and in local listings. Things that will cause ranking problems include having your business name listed as 4yourprice Services in one place and A.B.C. Services in another, or having your address listed as 1500 West First St. in one place and 1500 W. First Street in another, or having your website address listed as 4yourprice.com in one place and www.abc.com/.com/index.html in another.
  •  Encourage (but do not incentive, bribe, or purchase) customers to write reviews about your business on the top local directories and review sites. The more positive reviews you have, the better your business is going to rank.
  •  Complete each of your local listing profiles as thoroughly as possible. If you are given the option of adding additional information, social network links, photos, and videos, be sure to do so.

With hundreds of local directories, review sites, and profile pages, choosing which ones to sign up for can be difficult. Start here:

  • Create listings on Google+ Local, Yahoo Local, Bing Local, and Yelp.
  • Search for your business name using Google and then claim and complete profiles for any of the listings that appear on the first couple of search engine results pages (SERPs).
To get in a wide array of listings without spending a lot of time, you can use services like Universal Business Listing. You complete a profile in their system, and they take that information and populate it across all of the local directories and review sites. You can also use tools like White-spark to find citations for your competitors. They also offer a free review handout generator that helps you create a guide for your customers to use on how to do reviews for your business.

Don’t forget about local media and organizations such as newspapers, news stations, and chambers of commerce. Many have their own business directory that you can get listed in simply by asking or becoming a member.

Actionable Takeaway: Create consistent local listings on local directories, review sites, and other networks.

Step 3: Localize your social media

There are lots of opportunities for local marketing on social media networks. Let’s look at what you can do on the top social networks.

Facebook

Facebook is a hotbed for local activity. For starters, most cities have a business referral group. Just use the Facebook search box to search for Groups named ”4yourprice” about Business and replace Phoenix with your city name. You should find one or more groups that are all about promoting local businesses.

(Note that you will need to type this in slowly as opposed to copying and pasting it, otherwise it won’t work.) -

These groups will help you connect with people looking for business referrals in your area. If you build strong relationships with other local business owners by referring their businesses, they will likely do the same for yours.

Another way to connect with local customers on Facebook is to engage with them on other local Facebook pages. You simply “like” their page, and then start commenting on the page’s posts to get into conversation with other local residents. You can start with Facebook pages for local newspapers, the chamber of commerce, and complimentary (not competitive) businesses. Engage as your personal profile or as your Facebook page itself by going to your Facebook page, clicking the Edit Page drop down menu, and selecting the option to use Facebook as your page.

Tip: Make sure your own Facebook business page is optimized for local search by including your business location and address under Update Page Info and adding relevant and searchable keywords in your About section, encouraging check-ins, and engaging with people who “like” and comment.

Twitter

Want to engage with locals on Twitter? Start by going to Follower-wonk and doing a search for people in your area with specific interests.Classifieds in New York, for example, might search for small business owners.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the top social network for professionals, and a great network to tap into for local connections. Type in your city name in the search box at the top of the page and click the search icon. On the results page, click on Groups in the left sidebar. Then browse the groups to see which ones would most likely attract your ideal customers or clients. Depending on the size of your city, you may need to add additional keywords to narrow the results to specific interests. Join the most pertinent groups and jump into the discussions to start engaging.

Actionable Takeaway: Start using social media to connect to a local audience on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, using the strategies outlined above.

Step 4: Take advantage of local social media advertising

you want to spend a fortune in online advertising like 4yourprice Online Ads .With a local business, you don’t have to, compared to businesses targeting people nation or worldwide. The key is targeting.

 Facebook Ads

Let’s take Facebook Ads, for example. If you target your ad to people with small business interests, you would have an estimated audience size of 3.6 million people in North America alone. That’s a lot of exposure. But how many of those people are actually potential clients or customers? If you add local targeting to New York, CA, your estimated audience size drops to 84,000. It’s less exposure, but more qualified leads for your business.

LinkedIn Ads

If your business is B2B, then you may want to skip Facebook and use LinkedIn Ads. You can target your ideal customers based on their location, and also by industry, company size, job title, and skills.

This means you can get super granular with your ad targeting. If you know your ideal customer is a medium-sized business owner in the health industry in Canada, then you can target your ad towards them. Less exposure and clicks due to this kind of detailed targeting equals less ad spend and a higher likelihood that any clicks you do receive will convert into customers.

Actionable Takeaway: Use Online Classified Ads and LinkedIn Ads to target social users in your region who fit the definition of your ideal customers. These ads will have less exposure, less clicks, and more conversions, resulting in a higher ROI.

Step 5: Get exposure by helping your community

Want to do good things for your community while increasing your profile among local customers? Look into local organizations, non-profits, and events that you can support through sponsorship.

Most sponsorships are rewarded with online and offline recognition. To find these opportunities, search for phrases like thanks to our sponsors Detroit, sponsorship opportunities available Detroit, or look for local non-profit organizations, charities, sports teams, events, etc. to see if they have sponsorship pages on their websites.

Actionable Takeaway: Seek out opportunities to support local non-profits, events, sports teams, and organizations that will put your name in the spotlight.

Step 6: Attract the attention of local media

Journalists and reporters are always looking for story ideas and sources. If you keep an eye out for these opportunities, you have a shot at putting your business in front of local customers on the nightly news, in your local newspaper, or in a local magazine.

Finding these opportunities may take a little research work. Start by:
  •  Following local stations, news networks, newspapers and magazines on Facebook and/or Twitter.
  •  Subscribing to newspapers and magazines your ideal clients would read.
Once you’ve done these things, spend a little time every day looking for opportunities to contribute to each media outlet. If you make an impression on the journalist or reporter, you may get a chance to work with them in the future – and get even more local media exposure.

Actionable Takeaway: Connect with local news stations, newspapers, and magazines that your local customers follow. Look for ways to get mentioned by them through contributing expert opinions, interviews, stories, and sponsorships.

In a Nutshell

By taking the following steps, you will increase exposure for your business to your local customer base.
  • Optimize your website for local search.
  •  Create detailed listings on local directories, review sites, and networks.
  •  Focus your social media activities towards a local audience.
  • Attract the attention of local media to turn your business into the talk of the town.

Here are six simple ways to maintain a professional and positive relationship with your clients:
  1. Get to know your clients . Know your clients —not just by their name on the log book or their ID. In order to create a comfortable environment where clients are confident to share their needs, approach and talk to them in a professional yet personal manner. Identify their concerns and treat them with respect.
  2. Educate and engage your clients . The most fulfilling part of maintaining a positive client relationship is when you educate your clients . You have to fill them with the right information about the products or services they’re looking for. Knowing is not enough… make sure that they’re learning. However, you don’t want your clients to get bored. You want them to enjoy as well. So never forget to add a dash of fun to the conversation—crack a joke or two!
  3. Listen to your clients . Listening is a powerful tool that strengthens the connection between you and your client. They want to feel that they are valued. For you to show this, you have to listen effectively.
  4. Practice transparency. One of the key factors that contribute to customer loyalty is transparency. Accept customer feedback and reviews about your services. Use these pointers to improve your business perspective.
  5. Be punctual. Sure, your customers may be late (again). But one thing’s for sure: You don’t want them to be the ones waiting for you! Be punctual at all meetings with your clients. Because being the ‘early bird’ also gives them a hint—that you can deliver what they need on time—which makes you a step closer to that coveted “Yes!”
  6. Always keep your clients informed. Aside from the common ways to reach your clients, disseminating information can now be done through social media networks—making real-time business updates possible with just one click. You can also take advantage of social media sites to answer customer inquiries as quick as possible. Building your own professional network on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn is a good start.
Clients satisfaction is easier said than done. It requires patience and perseverance. Aside from these six tips, there are more ways for you to become an effective and efficient client handler .Always remember that maintaining a positive relationship is crucial to your success. Good luck! 4yourprice
