It was a Sunday evening and the only day for Goan to be out there on the streets and all the possible public spaces. It was at that time when two fisher women were passing by the Baga Road. One of them was very old and bold whereas the other one was pretty young and shy to walk past the elites who were having a good time with their family and friends at Baga. Some were roaming while some just sat on the rocks and enjoyed the soft summer breeze after a hot sunny day.People say that Goa is safe for women but the truth of the matter is that people don't have the time to attack at gaze upon a woman in the busy schedule that Goa has given them. Marry, a young lady who belonged to a lower strata of the society was a fisher woman by profession. A woman very vulnerable. Vulnerable to this large society. She did know that and on that Sunday evening when all the elite residents of baga were 'chilling' at Baga Beech, she also realized it. As Marry walked with her mother who had already been through the same and by now just did not care, she could not face it. She did not have the courage to face those lusty eyes that possessed power.

It was a 3 minute walk in which more than 30 lusty eyes had already hit her. Hit her so hard that its wound had pinched her all night. As she returned home all she could think of was those lusty eyes.
She was not like her mother who could take it. She thought over it all night and morning she came to a conclusion. A conclusion, which was based on the series of incidents that, took place before. Like the one on previous evening.

Marry.....Kutha ahe?

It was her mother's call for her to go to work

That's when she had opened the door saying she is no more a fisher woman and that morning she had opened the door wearing a dress that a man would. Her femininity was lost. It was lost in the dust that rolled over
Baga that night.

sunset
She got off from her bed with a bang. Very soon she rushed to the washroom and washed her face having a quick bath she came out looked at the clock which had struck 11 AM. She rushed to the door and walked of the house. It was D' day for her. The day, which could change everything. A day that could not be missed. She caught a 11:45 Chandni Chowk metro from Noida City Centre station. Jousting her way out she managed to board the ladies coach. She just caught her breath and pulling out her Nokia 1100 and  she made a call to her boss:

Hello Sir,
Yes Shaina, don't you think you are too early?
Sir just give me 5 minutes and I'll be there in 10 minutes. It has been a rough morning.
Shaina,do you  really think I care?
Sir please I have worked a lot on 4yourprice project.
But i am sorry to say you are late and my client has already arrived and I cannot keep him waiting just because it has been a rough morning for you.
But sir...
You have two options be here exactly in 10 minutes or else be ready to quit, your Job.
Sir I have almost reached Just 10 minutes.
Ok
______________beeeeeeppppppppppppp
and the call was disconnected.

As she rushed to the office she thought about the terrible dream she woke up with this morning. Her face was full of terror. She quickly got back to normal and rushed as she walked towards her office. She saw something she did not want to. She saw a kids hand stuck in the bicycle chain. It was around a three year old abandoned child who looking very dark and dirty due to staying on the street. He had been trying to get out his stuck hand from the chain but it was tangled in the iron chain his mouth wide open eyes pouring out and the shriek noise is all that could be heard as the red liquid just flew out and out around him.

It was a busy day when every person was rushing in a busy city and this noise was being unheard by the loud train horns and the work that continued everywhere. She had exactly 5 minutes to save my job and grab that opportunity. But my conscience was stopping me. She was scared...scared of maybe because of what she had dreamt that morning. Unfortunately, it was the same one. Or maybe a worse one.

She had made up her mind by now. She rushed and quickly entangled the kids hand from that iron chain. Right after that with some knowledge of that place she took her to the nearby hospital and got her treatment done. With whatever money she was left with she managed to get her treated at the cost of her job and the opportunity that awaited. After the kid was treated she breathed a sigh of relief and after leaving her to an orphan age. she now boarded the 11PM new delhi slow and headed back home.
There was a sense of despair but there was a sense of satisfaction as well and of course no guilt for future.

For the first time in life the urge to of writing down my thoughts has driven me crazy. This is because I have no one to share my thoughts with. I speak less these days but think more. I am here in my dream city Bangalore all alone, all by myself, away from my parents, friends. It looks like my thoughts have undergone a complete change. The boy who was always surrounded by the color  green and pampering is now matured and self made. The thought about making others (my family) happy is what holds a top priority in my life. As the sea waves keep on rising my passion to rise above all gets fanning from it. Stepping into my parents shoes and being my own guardian is not so easy as it sounds. The kind of life I have had in the past five months when I was not getting a proper accommodation I realized the importance of home and its value. One thing I have picked it up from a lot of successful people around me is that you must enjoy what you do and not complain about it. So I accepted whatever kept coming  my way with effort and acceptance I made it beautiful for me.
It is true that once you move out of school and step into college life you generally don't make good friends similar was the case with me. A person who loves going out with friends I couldn't believe that I was capable of going out and enjoying my own company and my thoughts. I have all kinds of people around me but instead of ignoring the ones I don't like I talk to everyone. My emotion towards friends the ones that I will be making in future is now dead. The focus is on the career waiting ahead which will give my parents a smile saying that they are proud of their son also.

The one who used to throw tantrums for food can now eat any kind of food. The aim is to excel in being the best. The silly magazines which dad used to get for my I used to ignore them are the ones I buy on my own today to read them.

The search for my Dreamy girl is now over but the hope is still alive.!!!!! This is when I realize that yes its time when i have finally grown up as there was no one to treat me or pamper me like a kid. After so many lessons of my life, finally something good is on track and that is day when i started my own company (Online classifieds Advertisement).

On a quiet lazy afternoon, he got off the bus, walked down a quiet lane to a small cottage with peeling paint and faded curtains. Suddenly a voice behind him asked, “Are you looking for someone?” With a huge torment in my heart and an aching desire, with a lot of effort I looked at the identity card in my confused hands and asked for Mr. Singh. The old man looked at me with his dull grey yet sharp experienced eyes look at me and gave me a positive smile. He directed me to a huge farmhouse where big cars were parked. It looked so royal, yet so simple. He said “This is Me. Singh’s house, most of the times he stays here.”I had forgotten the rest that had captured my mind earlier. All I was thinking at that moment that how could such a royal bungalow be amidst these small simple houses and old cottages? I entered the door of that enormous bungalow Ram, the old man with those mysterious eyes left me there and said, “Hope you meet him.”  He smiled as if he knew everything.
I went ahead saw a tall dark man well dressed in the finest attire which I had seen a few wearing who used to park their cars outside my pan shop. He was sitting on the breakfast table and having breakfast, with one hand and holding the newspaper in the other. The table was well led as I had always seen it in the movies with waiters standing all around. Things were so organized, his life sorted unlike others. One of his waiters with a lot of respect and courtesy asked told him, “Sir there is someone to visit you.” By removing the newspaper from his face he looked at me, and asked “yes, what brings you here young man?” I was a so hesitant, so conscious as he looked at me but the way he asked me, his voice so humble the look on his face so simple, made me feel like home. An enlarged version of the face I had seen in his identity card. By then I was confident and happy on the decision I had taken.
(Still flauntingly) I replied:  Saheb I found your wallet, at Kurar village outside my pan shop on the pavement.

Mr.Singh: Oh Bappa! thank you so much! I had been looking for it.Looking for something apart from money, he pulled out an old picture from it.
Mr. Singh: You don’t know young man what you have done for me. This is the most special picture of my wife and my kids that I have as their memory.
As he said he his eyes became numb and voice chocked. Clearing his throat and gaining back the steadiness in his voice he said, “I am really glad, glad for your honesty and the pain you took to return this wallet.” Taking out entire money from the wallet he kept on my hand. “This is yours you have earned it. You totally deserve it. In fact much more than this.”
Mr. Singh:  Do you wish for anything?
I : No sahib I can’t ask for more. This is more than enough.
Mr. Singh: What do you do young man?
By now I was already spellbound by his former gestures and generosity. Everything had come to me as a shock.
I slowly replied:  I have a pan shop at Kurar village.
Mr. Singh:” Do you want to earn well and make it big in life?” (He immediately said.)”I really like you young man and want you to be rich and successful in your life. Don’t you also wish for the same?”
I: If I get an opportunity sahib then why not.
Mr. Singh: “Here is your opportunity my dear.” He said putting his generous hand around my meek shoulder.
“I have a big 4yourprice Company. I will hire you, and give you proper training so that you can reach the top position in my company very soon.”
I: “But sir....”
Mr. Singh: With a man so honest I am sure you will definitely make it big in life.”
I said: Sir it is a very big thing will I be able to manage it?
Mr. Singh: “Of course young man you can do it! Young man you have bought to me my kids and wife’s precious memory back.”  He looked at the picture in his hand in which his wife was holding the new born kids in her hand. It was in a hospital. Old memories captured his mind once again. Deviating from those old thoughts he took me inside his house.
It’s today, 20 years later that I am looking outside this multi storied office building window. Standing in my cabin thinking from where I should start my story to success to address the press conference. From where and how should I begin my journey from a pan seller to the CEO of India’s biggest 4yourprice Company’s CEO?
There was definitely a reason why my conscience did not allow me to steal that money despite its maximum need to me. Despite of knowing the fact that my family was under debt I had already mortgaged my shop. Still there was something that pulled me towards Mr. Singh’s bungalow. Either it was his want for his family’s memory or..the morning prayer I had said before leaving for work. Had it not been Mr. Singh that day m and my family would have not been able to say their morning prayers ever.  There was definitely a reason to it. A decision that changed my life! A turning point in my life.  A journey that was truly unforgettable. As they say, all is well that ends well. Mr. Singh may not be there in this world to see the fruit grow out of the seed he had germinated but truly whatever I am today is an outcome of the encounter with that great man on that quiet lazy afternoon.

Firstly, find what is your kind of ideal job. Do what you love is the key of success and happiness for our life. Anyway, everyone doesn't have the chance to choose their choice even there are lots of different jobs in these day.

If you are hooked to the social media, you can become an expert on it; if your friends seek your advice on their shopping trips, you can be an image consultant - and so on. The story of today's exciting, emerging careers is - to use a cliched tagline of a sportswear brand - impossible is nothing.

"You can make a career out of what you passionately enjoy doing," says Abha Matthew, a school career counselor. "A career is more than just a job. You dedicate your entire day, maybe a part of the night too, to it and if it's something you don't enjoy doing, the monotony starts showing in your work. This is why you hear of so many people making a career shift in their 30s and 40s."

Career counselor Usha Albuquerque adds that as the world becomes more interconnected, new jobs opportunities are opening up.

Social media is one of the most exciting, new avenues that has opened up, career wise. Its power, as a tool to influence people's opinion, is felt like never before. Therefore, a growing number of companies are hiring social media experts whose job is to build their online reputation and offer a platform for instant feedback from consumers.

While these young employees are happy being always available on Facebook, posting updates on the company's news, and tweeting and re-tweeting information, their job also entails reviewing traffic volume, bounce rates and other relevant metrics, developing social media components for new campaigns, helping with blogger outreach and creating long-term solutions for client.

"Businesses depend on reputation, and online reputation is very important today, which social media managers help in achieving by constant monitoring," says Shrenik Gandhi, business head of White Rivers Digital which is into social media management and designing websites.

Sensing the demand in the market, a number of B-schools are now designing courses in social media management. For instance, NIIT Imperia has an advanced course in social media marketing.

For those who are hooked to mobile phone applications and love downloading them, have you ever thought of developing such apps and pursuing a career as a mobile application programmer?

"With 110 million mobile phone users in the country, a mobile application programmer is an upcoming and promising career that has a huge scope to be creative," Albuquerque said.

Apart from developing the apps, the job profile may require combating security and compatibility issues. Knowledge of interface design, network communications, web services, SQLite databases, GSP framework and location based services is recommended for such professionals.

As India juggles to achieve a balance between pushing up its GDP, ensuring inclusive growth and attempting to address issues ranging from education to climate change, another career option that is expected to be the next big thing is to be a social entrepreneur.

"Social entrepreneurs are those people who have the ability to recognize a pressing social problem, and then using innovative ideas manage a venture to address that problem. Unlike business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs don't measure performance by profit and loss, and are mostly associated with voluntary organizations," Matthew said.

So, if working for a cause that you truly believe in is your calling, then this is the career for you. Experts, however, suggest a field experience before the final decision, just so that you can test your level of passion.

And if you are one of those who believes in the adage, 'First impression is the last impression', maybe you can choose a career in image consultancy.

"An image consultant guides people to optimally use their clothing, grooming and body language to create a powerful impression. They also provide other services like styling services to fashion brands, uniform design, image management policy designs and the like. The power of personal appearance goes a long way in personal, professional and social life," said Rachna Prasad, an image consultant.

The overarching idea is that you can build a career on your passion. Even if it's to create sauces in the kitchen...didn't we mention that specialty chefs - saucier, patissier - can also be a good career calling, what with food going global and cookery shows stealing the show?
