The purpose of employing a SEO skilled is to rank well within the search engine. this could be achieved by adding links that time back to the precise website that one is making an attempt to rank. Online portfolios can work for you in two ways. One, they can help convince a potential client that they want to work with you. And, two, they can help you get discovered on sites dedicated to bringing together portfolios of specific types of professionals.

Personally, I’ve received many job opportunities thanks to my online portfolios, which include:
  •  a dedicated business portfolio website
  • a one-page portfolio on my blog
  •  portfolio links on my social profiles
  •  portfolios on networks for freelance writers and journalists
I will share examples of all of these throughout this post. Essentially, you can never have too many portfolios. Even if you only get one lead from one of your portfolios, it will return your investment.

In this guide, we’ll show you how you can create a great online portfolio on your website, blog, social media networks, and specific professional networks.

Portfolio 1:Create a portfolio on a dedicated business website

http://www.4yourprice.comYour primary portfolio should be on a dedicated website for your business. This is a website whose goal is to capture leads to your business.

Thankfully, you don’t have to be a web designer to create a great business website complete with a portfolio. There are lots of platforms you can use such as a WordPress website using a portfolio theme. If you run a search on Google for WordPress portfolio themes, you’ll find lists that show you every type imaginable, premium themes, and marketplaces that give you many more portfolio options.

Portfolio 2: Create a portfolio on a blog

What if you have a blog that is separate from your business website, or you don’t have a business website at all? You can still create a portfolio. In this case, maybe it would just be a page that showcases your work and lets your blog readers know you offer services related to the content you create. I get quite a few leads from my blog’s portfolio page, which is a simple list of the latest blog posts I’ve written.

At the end of this list of posts, I include a contact form that potential clients can use to ask about having similar content written for their websites.

This kind of portfolio page is perfect for people who are primarily known for their blogs and want to expand into offering services, but don’t have a business just yet. It can also help them generate business from their blog, without having to lose the identity of the blog itself by turning it into a business-oriented website.

Portfolio 3: Create a portfolio on social media networks

Social media networks like Facebook, LinkedIn,4yourprice.com and Pinterest allow you to create portfolios in a variety of ways. On Facebook, you can create a custom tab for your Facebook page that is a dedicated portfolio, much like Social Identities has done with their social design portfolio.

Portfolio 4: Create a video portfolio

If your business creates video, helps people create video, or has work that can be showcased through video, then you definitely want to create a portfolio on sites like YouTube and Vimeo. GoAnimate, a service that helps you easily create animated videos, has sections of featured videos and tutorials, all demonstrating the power of their tool.

Portfolio 5: Create a portfolio on a professional network

Last, but not least, there are lots of professional networks that help connect freelancers, consultants, and businesses with their ideal customers. There are lots of them out there, so your first job will be to make sure the network is right for your business. Here are some things to use as qualifiers before adding your portfolio to the mix.
  • Pricing: while most networks are free to those offering services (and then charge the people who want to hire), there are some networks that will charge you certain fees to join or to get you leads. If possible, aim for networks that allow you to link to your website, or have a free-to-use contact form.
  •  Listed Rates: if a network lists rates, and yours are considerably higher than other businesses on the site, then you might want to skip it. If everyone else only charges $50 on a logo design, and you charge $500, you’re probably not going to get a lot of business.
  •  Quality: do the other portfolios on a site stack up to yours in a quality test? If a network is well known for not having great work, you don’t want your name to be listed there
  • Popularity: if a network allows companies to leave ratings, testimonials, etc. on those they have hired, look to see how many people actually have feedback on their portfolios. If there are a ton of portfolios, but no feedback, the network may be attracting more portfolio submissions than people who are looking to hire. That’s not so bad for a free site, but it’s not great if you’re paying for your portfolio listing. With those things in mind, here are some networks you can create a portfolio on to reach a new audience.

Social media marketing (SMM) is a form of Internet marketing that utilizes social networking websites as a marketing tool. The goal of SMM is to produce content that users will share with their social network to help a company increase brand exposure and broaden customer reach.

One of the key components of SMM is social media optimization (SMO). Like search engine optimization (SEO), SMO is a strategy for drawing new and unique visitors to a website. SMO can be done two ways: adding social media links to content, such as RSS feeds and sharing buttons -- or promoting activity through social media by updating statuses or tweets, or blog posts.

Social media selling refers to the method of gaining traffic or attention through social media sites.

Social media itself could be a catch-all term for sites which will give radically completely different social actions. for example, Twitter could be a social web site designed to let folks share short messages or “updates” with others. Facebook, in distinction could be a full-blown social networking web site that permits for sharing updates, photos, change of integrity events and a spread of alternative activities.

Why would a probe vendor — or a web site concerning search engines — care concerning social media? the 2 area unit terribly closely connected.

Social media typically feeds into the invention of recent content like news stories, and “discovery” could be a search activity. Social media may facilitate build links that successively support into SEO efforts. many folks additionally perform searches at social media sites to search out social media content.

SMM became more common with the increased popularity of websites such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, and YouTube. In response, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has updated its rules to include SMM. If a company or its advertising agency provides a blogger or other online commenter with free products or other incentives to generate positive buzz for a product, the online comments will be treated legally as endorsements. Both the blogger and the company will be held responsible for ensuring that the incentives are clearly and conspicuously disclosed, and that the blogger's posts contain no misleading or unsubstantiated statements and otherwise complies with the FTC's rules concerning unfair or deceptive advertising

What To Bookmark
Technically you can bookmark anything – you could literally bookmark every page of your website however I don’t recommend that. The idea behind social bookmarking is that you are sharing content with other users around the web. This is particularly important for high profile sites that rely heavily on the voting aspect. If you bookmark rubbish it is really just a form of spamming! I recommend only bookmarking your best content – blog posts, articles, editorials, interviews, podcasts, videos, resources and so on. This keeps everyone happy.

How to Bookmark For SEO
The purpose of this exercise is to generate backlinks to our content pages that help them rank better in Google. I’ll assume that each piece of content is optimized for some keyword. There are usually three places where you can add information:
  • The title
  • Tags
  • Description
Make sure your keyword is in all three of them. Note that the title especially usually becomes the anchor text that is used in the resulting link so the title is arguably the most important element to get right. Google has recently introduced a bunch of algorithm changes (Panda, Penguin etc) and one of the consequences of these changes is that they do not like to see the same anchor text being used over and over again - they will devalue such links!

I started 2013 with not as many clients as I’d like. Around June, something happened—old and new clients alike started knocking on my door.

The timing was partly due to other efforts, but companies I hadn’t even heard of were also finding me. When I asked people from these companies how they found me, the answer was always the same: LinkedIn.

That makes perfect sense to me. LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional network. Hundreds of millions of people post their professional profiles on the site. People use it to connect to others, have conversations, research companies, look for work, recruit freelancers (I’m living proof) recruit employees (sometimes bypassing traditional recruiters) and so much more.

No matter what type of business you do, you’ll be able to find business—and it may find you—via LinkedIn.

Here are five tips based on how I found—and continue to find—business on LinkedIn:

1. I made my profile reflect the real me I regularly beef up my LinkedIn profile to ensure it shows prospective clients how I can help them. For instance, my profile summary tells readers what I do in less than three lines. Everything else in the profile flows from there.

When I update my profile, I use the following question as a helpful test: If I’m asked to produce a resume, could I copy the content straight from my LinkedIn profile without changing a thing? When I answer that question with a yes, I know I have a good profile that helps prospective clients find me.

2. I continually expand my network Here’s how I expand my network: I think of people in categories like these (this isn’t a comprehensive list—you can probably add other categories):

  • current and former clients
  •  current and former colleagues
  •  industry contacts
  •  current and former professors/teachers/trainers
  •  friends
  •  family
Then I connect to those people via LinkedIn. Doing this strengthens my network, which leads to other benefits down the road:

  •  I can request introductions to other people.
  •  I find connections in interesting companies.
  • I ask favors of my connections.
  • I do favors for my connections
  • I make it easier for other people to find me.
3. I ask for recommendations from people who know me LinkedIn recommendations really boost my profile. They make my profile more informative and attractive add other people’s perspectives on what it’s like to work with me demonstrate that the recommendations are real (people can contact my recommenders via their LinkedIn profiles for verification) provide social proof, which influences people’s decisions to buy and hire

To request LinkedIn recommendations, I think back to successful work experiences, projects or assignments. Who praised me? Who else benefited from my work? I then connect with those people and ask them to write a paragraph or two that details the work I did, what made it successful and why I was great to work with.

4. I stay in touch with my contacts LinkedIn makes it easy to stay in touch with people who you might otherwise lose sight of: people you worked with in the past, people you met once while networking, people you’ve traded emails with.

You never know when one of these people might be in a position to help you, or vice versa, so I make it a habit to communicate occasionally with my contacts.

LinkedIn sends me “update” emails when my connections add events to their profiles, like promotions and job changes. I also get updates on birthdays and work anniversaries. I use these update emails as opportunities to send people quick notes. I congratulate them. I ask them how they’re doing. I may add other comments. I enjoy reaching out, and sometimes have conversations that can lead to new business.

5. I schedule meetings “IRL” Digital relationships only go so far. To deepen them, you need to meet people IRL (in real life). So I make it a habit to get together with people in my network for coffee, lunch, networking events or other socializing. Doing this strengthens my connection with them.

I like to schedule Thursday afternoon coffee with people who I don’t regularly see. I use such meetings to do things for others, ask for things like advice or contacts, and simply socialize.

In a Nutshell,

LinkedIn is always evolving. New features are introduced and old ones retired. I visit blog.LinkedIn.com regularly to stay on top of these changes.

I wanted to write a guide over SEO commonly known as Search Engine Optimization.  I understood about the importance of the SEO writing and so I wanted to share the tips about SEO.The SEO of your website is largely dependent upon how easily and quickly your potential customers can find your site through a search engine query. With your website already cleaned up and shining with outstanding quality content and internal SEO methods (keywords, meta tags, etc),
“What is SEO writing?”
SEO is all about writing your original text and content , which includes your own views and experiences, also which readers want to read and the search engine can search.

Your main aim online is to make the websites and blog and earn money. For this aim to accomplish you have to choose such a path in which the people visiting Google.com may find you easily in H1 or H2 page. In short, they find you in the starting page of the particular search, for this purpose, to make your stuff visible, SEO comes in frame.

Importance of SEO while continuing writing for so long, the writers understood the need of SEO, they just realized the importance of visibility of their content on the search engine.

There is nothing wrong to write according to SEO, we are optimizing the content according to the need of the user. Just stuffing the words for making the content known to the subscribers is the great need of writing.

What you are writing, what are your thoughts, if this doesn’t reaches to the readers, then what is the use of writing.

So the main aim of SEO writing is to attract maximum readers towards your thoughts and learning.

SEO opens the door of the writers mind and give him the way to earn money by the productive content.

Every webmaster needs to know the value of the Google PageRank (PR) system. Since Google is the number one search engine in the world, it is the leader in determining which websites are the most relevant for search words and terms.  If you run a business website and you want to get noticed by search engines, you should take care to improve your Google PageRank.

What is Google Page Rank?

Mr. Page’s doctoral research was based on an exploration on the mathematical properties of the linking system of the World Wide Web. He developed and defined a method that counted and qualified every link on the web, giving each link a vote.  Having links from more popular websites carry more weight than less popular sites.A Google PageRank is determined by a proprietary mathematical formula that counts every link to a website as a vote. In essence, your website is put up against every other website with similar content and keywords in a popularity contest. The website with the most links, as well as the most valuable links, wins a higher “rank” in popularity.

Therefore, it is important for your website to acquire back links from other websites that are essentially giving a vote of confidence to your site. Every “vote” or link to your site helps determine the value of your site. However, it’s not just the sheer number of links your website gets. Google also takes a good, hard look at the website who offers the link to your site. A backlink from a more important page that is high in popularity itself will count more toward a higher ranking for your website.

PageRank and SEO

If your PageRank is high, it is more likely that a customer will find you, as the search results will put your page higher on the list. Therefore time, effort, and care should be given to achieving a high Google PageRank.

How can you strengthen your Google PageRank? As with any business, your website must have a proper marketing strategy. With PageRank, that means you must get noticed not just by paying customers, but by other websites from whom you want a backlink.
  • List your website on valuable and popular directories like Yahoo, Dmoz, or CitySearch. Avoid “link farms” that offer little or no value to your link.
  • Get your website reviewed by a popular and authoritative review site. Unpaid reviews are best since they offer value to customers that are not swayed by cash incentives.
  • Research other business websites and encourage them to link to your site. Joint ventures are a good way to exchange links and benefit each other’s business as well.
  • Join popular online forums and post valuable comments and discussions with links back to your site. This can get others to do the same if they like what they see.
  • Publish articles on popular article submission sites with links to your website. Associated Content and EzineArticles are good examples.
  • Write “linkbait” articles that will attract the attention of social networks. These articles can be valuable resources, controversial, or humorous. If one of the articles or blog posts on your websites is picked up by the social networks, you not only enjoy a great backlink, but a significant boost of traffic.
Can PageRank Be Manipulated?

Since Google PageRank is an algorithm based on hyperlinks to a website, many webmasters and dastardly SEO firms may try and sell “high” PageRanks to website owners. For the right price, a webmaster could potentially “buy” a link on an already popular webpage to his website that not only drives traffic, but also can potentially receive a higher rank on Google’s algorithmic ranking system.

Though buying links may be a good marketing strategy, Google is on the lookout and cautions webmasters against attempting to manipulate the PageRank system. The main reason is that manipulation devalues the entire PageRank system. If a webmaster is determined by Google to be buying links to raise the PR, then the website will be devalued on Google’s system or banned entirely. Your PageRank could be stripped to zero, and worse, your website may be “sandboxed,” meaning that it will not show up on any search result list.

Getting a high Google PageRank is not automatic. It takes time and effort to ensure that your website continues to provide quality content and acquires links from other quality sites. But with continual effort by legitimate means, your website may just be the one to which Google will send natural customers.
